Your rental bike (if booked) will be waiting for you at the hotel. Our recommendation: 3-river tour by boat (approximately € 13,- on site, 50 minutes).
Day 2, Wesenufer/Schlögen (40 km)Past Engelhartszell (Römerburgus Oberranna, UNESCO World Heritage Site) to the Schlögener Loop.
Day 3, Linz (46 km by bike, 15 minutes by train)Through the barely populated Engtal valley to the Danube town of Ottensheim; by city railway (every half hour, approximately € 5,- on site) to Linz. Tickets for a serenade concert in the Renaissancehof Linz (=open air) included (in July and August, please notify us when booking).
Day 4, Wallsee (45 km)Along the Danube to St Florian (abbey). By ferry to Mauthausen (€ 5,- on site) and on to the day's destination.
Day 5, Maria Taferl/Marbach (45 km)Through the Strudengau and on to Maria Taferl, Austria's second largest place of pilgrimage, or on to Marbach.
Day 6, Krems (52 km)Continue to Melk (abbey), past beautiful vineyards into the famous wine-growing region of Wachau and to your destination for the day.
Day 7, Tulln/Stockerau (45 km)To the garden city of Tulln or on to Stockerau.
Day 8, Vienna (36 km)Past Klosterneuburg (abbey) to the city of the waltz. Ticket for a first-class Bundestheater performance (Burgtheater etc.) included (in May and September, please notify us when booking).
Day 9, DepartureDeparture by bus from Hotel Wien every Saturday, the remaining days by train (2nd class/free choice of train, every 2 hours, no transfer to/from the railway station). Return transfer of own bikes on departure day Thursday to Sunday with drop-off the day before in Vienna + € 38,-.
