Route
Day 1, arrival in Lüneburg

Parking in the hotel garage (approx. €10 per day on site). Your rental bike (if booked) will be waiting for you at the hotel.

Day 2, Bardowick (26 km)

Follow the historic Ilmenau salt route to Bardowick with its impressive cathedral. Continue to Reppenstedt and back.

Day 3, Scharnebeck ship lift (58 km)

Follow the Elbe Side Canal to the Lüneburg ship lift, one of the largest in the world. Continue to Echem and Hohnstorf. Individual visit to the fishing museum. Back on the Ilmenau Cycle Route.

Day 4, Lüneburg Heath (52 km)

To Oldendorf (Oldendorfer Totenstatt cultural monument, picturesque Froschsee lake). Continue to Lopausee lake and back via Barnstedt.

Day 5, visit to the thermal baths or Hamburg

Individual visit to the SaLü salt thermal baths (see Thermal Baths Special) or excursion to the Hanseatic city of Hamburg (approx. 30 minutes by train).

Day 6, Neetze (44 km)

Via the Boltersen burial mound field to Neetze. Return via Deutsch Evern.

Day 7, Elbe Side Canal (31 km)

Through the Tiergarten to Deutsch Evern (Martinuskirche) and on to Wendisch Evern (Timeloberg memorial site). Follow the Elbe Side Canal to Lüneburg-Moorfeld. Individual visit to Lüne Abbey. Continue to the old town to the Old Crane and back.

Thermal Baths Special

The Salü Saltwater Spa, directly opposite the hotel, is northern Germany's largest adventure and saltwater pool with around 1,700 m² of water surface and genuine Lüneburg strong brine from its own source. Spacious sauna area with different themed saunas.

Book directly, 4-hour ticket for admission to the bathing and sauna area at a special price of €10 per person.
