Day 2, Fulda Cycle Route (43 km by bike, 30 minutes by train)To the Orangery in Kassel and along idyllic river bends via Fuldabrück to Melsungen (half-timbered houses). By train to Wilhelmshöhe and back to the hotel by bike.
Day 3, Werratal Cycle Route (60 km cycling, 100 minutes by train)By train to Hann. Münden. Along the Werra in the Frau-Holle-Land Geo-Nature Park via Witzenhausen to the half-timbered town of Eschwege and the Werratalsee lake. By train to Wilhelmshöhe and back to the hotel by bike.
Day 4, UNESCO Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe (approx. 8 km hike)Visit the World Heritage Site with water features (May 1st to October 3rd), Wilhelmshöhe Palace, Löwenburg Castle, and Hercules. Optional bike ride from the Schlosshotel to Hercules (approxiametly 250 m elevation gain).
Day 5, Lossetal Cycle Route (35 km by bike, 100 minutes by train)Take the tram to Hessisch-Lichtenau. Return via the Lossetal Cycle Route through the half-timbered town of Helsa (Rumpelstilzchenbrunnen fountain) and Kaufungen.
Day 6, Hann. Münden (56 km by bike, 32 minutes by train)Take the tram to Kassel Town Hall and follow the Fulda Cycle Route to Hann. Münden (historic old town), where the Fulda and Werra rivers “kiss”. Back to the hotel by bike.
Day 7, Weser Cycle Route (44 km by bike, 95 minutes by train)Take the train to Hann. Münden, follow the Weser Cycle Route to Bursfelde Abbey and continue car-free to Bad Karlshafen. Return by train (every 2 hours, 1 change).
Active version: From Bad Karlshafen car-free to Trendelburg (+ 31 km there and back).
