Not far from Hanstedt, the heathland area Auf dem Töps and the forested region of the Hanstedter Berge offer enchanting insights into the unique features of the Lüneburg Heath nature reserve. Near the Lüneburg Heath Wildlife Park is the treetop walkway with its observation tower, from which the view extends as far as the Port of Hamburg.

In the village center stands the Evangelical Lutheran St. Jacobi Church. The church tower of the neo-Gothic brick building, rising 36 meters high, is visible from far and wide.
